Treasurer Divjak reported that dues for the next 3 members will be $17.50. After that any changes in cost will be announced. The price has increased from $12.50 because the University was only subsidizing the first 40 members. Checks for the dues can be made out to UW Madison Circle K and can be brought to any meeting! addivjak@wisc.edu
Secretary Johnson passed around attendance and the service binder. There will be extra service sheets at next weeks meeting, so anyone who doesnt have one, can fill one out then. mljohnson9@wisc.edu

1. Dane County Youth Walk
Monica explained that the walk committee would like to hire a part time person to promote the walk in order to increase participation. They are looking for donations that would go towards that persons pay. We will discuss at next weeks meeting how much, if anything, we should donate to that
Also, they are looking for a student who may be interested in being a part of the planning committee for the walk. There next meeting is on October 14, at 8:30 am, but they are willing to be flexible about the meeting times to fit anyones schedule.
2. Club goals. Last year our club set the goal of increasing out service hours by 20%. That would mean completing 2400 hours as a club. Keep on doing that service so we can achieve our goal. Also, keep in mind that service hours go towards the district service initiative, the service Olympics!

VI. New Business

c. Hockey Game Concessions
Julie sent around a sign-up sheet for working the concessions at the hockey games. The shifts are from 5 until 9:30 or 10 so you still have time to enjoy the evening when you are done with your shift. This is an awesome opportunity for our club to make a lot of money, so sign up to work. The upcoming shifts are Fri and Sat. Oct 24 and 25, Nov 14 and 15, and Nov. 21 and 22.
d. Halloween at the Zoo
Halloween at the Zoo is a great service project. We get to dress up and be the characters in a Haunted Maze at Henry Vilas Zoo. It is a lot of fun, and there are shifts available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Oct 31-Nov.2 from 9-4. The signup will be at the next few meetings, but you can contact Megan if you need more information.
VI. Member Questions about events or anything?
VII. Happy Thoughts/Question of the Week
Todays question was what are you going to be for Halloween, or what has been you favorite Halloween costume? Shelly, our Kiwanis advisor, probably gets the award for most creative idea. She wants to have a Canadian Wonder Woman costume made. Unfortunately, she has consulted a tailor and the project would cost $1000!!! That is a little too steep for a Halloween Costume, so the idea has been put on hold!
Money in the Happy Thoughts jar goes to the Tomorrow Fund.
IX. Adjournment
Ms. Nesbit adjourned the meeting at 7:45 pm
Respectfully submitted,
